SOLUTIONS FOR:Jock McQuade3 Bag EndHobbiton OR 97020U.S.A.
PROBLEM A: Pass
PROBLEM B: 3 Notrump--So far, my own PRIVATE "Hail Mary".  Rooting for the panel  to justify my early-                                                month babbling.
PROBLEM C: 4 Spades
PROBLEM D: 1 Notrump
PROBLEM E: 3 Spades--We may well have 29 of the 30 points in the not-club  suits--so a club void  makes                 cold grand slam.  Reason enough to start probing, and have an ACE cuebid still in my pocket  for the next                    round.
PROBLEM F: 2 Hearts-- darned hard, but to cut the Gordian Knot,  I gave pard 3 wonderful bare aces, and           out....and came to appreciate the beauty of staying at the 2-level,  for now.  (lonesome  !H in dummy assumed!)
PROBLEM G: 4 Clubs--If  they let us in before setting us,  we MAY run the next 8 tricks  OR NOT.  but the cue           bid means we are golden for 10,11,or 12  in clubs
PROBLEM H: Spade Jack--but fair sailing to PAT, who my be punting (IN HEARTS!!)  for a spade through.  A new thought I never stumbled over that I will not "steal"    :P
A copy of these solutions will be e-mailed to you for your records.

Mildly surprised that no one else is choosing the lead of the !S 6.

I once read something about this approach to leads, so-called "4th highest from longest and strongest" against no-trump contracts. I worry that the King lead may smother partner's Queen--and--we would need the length to defeat the contract.

I'll get some other answers submitted after work today.

Yes I agree the lead of the spade K has its downsides Actually any spade lead could go seriously wrong.

I am influenced by my three small hearts and the 3H call on my left. I figure, or hope,  we will be getting the lead once more after they take their spade.

And then we need four tricks.  So I think we need to start with a spade, some spade, now. If Qx is on dummy, I will regret leading any spade. If the stiff Q hits, I will be glad I lead the K. It's a bit off the wall, agreed. I am still asking myself if I would actually do it at the table.

I'll let it be.

I'm very stuck on H.
As I mentioned before, I'm not a spade leader. I'm sure I need to keep them to 1 spade winner at the most.
But what else. I was thinking of 10 of clubs, my problem being that the 10 might look like I have a higher honor, misleading p completely if they are out of spades latter and get in.
that leaves me hearts, but which one. probably low to show count of my hearts so p can figure out what to do. .... (but maybe this gives them the tempo in hearts they need)
right?

A.  Uneasy Pass

B.  3 !S

C.  4 !S

D. 1NT

E. 3 !H.  If partner has a singleton small club then 3N likely just makes.  OTOH there may be a play for 12 tricks in !D so I will cue 3 !H

F. 2 !H Prefer the underbid.  However if playing 2-way xyz I would bid 2 !C.  Then partner bids 2 !D and I make the  !H invite at the 2 level.

G. 3NT  Partner's 3 !S bid must be asking for a  !S stop

H,  J !S Nothing fancy

SOLUTIONS FOR:
Todd Holes
Glen Ellyn IL 60137
U.S.A.

PROBLEM A: 2 Notrump. Vul at IMPs, so must make a move. I worry that the ambiguous 2 !S or even 3 !H may win. But 2NT is safer.

PROBLEM B: 3 Spades. Moth-eaten suit. Hate this.

PROBLEM C: 4 Spades. What else? Seriously. I suppose some panelist might walk the dog with 2 !S?

PROBLEM D: 2 Clubs. I know, I know . . . 8xxxx is a stopper. But if that's true, then Qxx is support!

PROBLEM E: 3 Notrump. Coin flip. Not sold on this. I really liked 3 !S --- keeping the Moysian in play.

PROBLEM F: 2 Hearts. This will be close with 3 !H. The Qx and fact it is MP convince me to go low.

PROBLEM G: 3 Notrump. Difficult.

PROBLEM H: Spade 6. Who knows? Have I mentioned that I hate lead problems?

PROBLEM A: 2 Notrump
PROBLEM B: 3 Spades
PROBLEM C: 4 Spades
PROBLEM D: 1 Notrump (this one is iffy, pseudo diamond stopped)
PROBLEM E: 3 Hearts    (This is theoretically a cue bid in support of diamonds, can still land in 3nt)
PROBLEM F: 2 Hearts   (could not bring myself to go higher with those orphaned Jx and Qx holdings)
PROBLEM G: 3 Notrump
PROBLEM H: Club 10     (could not figure out what to lead, reverted back to 10 of clubs, a somewhat passive lead hoping for pard to lead spades through, and then set them on picking up my diamond winner, hoping p has a heart winner or two)

SOLUTIONS FOR:
James Creech
5107 Sewells Pointe Dr. Virginia Heritage at Lee'
FREDERICKSBURG VA 22407-9355
U.S.A.

PROBLEM A: 2 Notrump
PROBLEM B: 3 Spades
PROBLEM C: 4 Spades
PROBLEM D: 1 Notrump
PROBLEM E: 3 Hearts        I never thought of this cue-bid, and it makes sense as being flexible.
PROBLEM F: 2 Hearts         Matchpoints and partscores lead to a lot of conservative action.
PROBLEM G: 3 Notrump
PROBLEM H: Spade Jack     The king is my fan-favorite, but a plain-vanilla jack is still more my style.
