BBO Matters / Re: BBO: V3 & coping with Covid19 & NEW IAC MEMBERS

I can post regarding the effect of BBO changes due to a rapid (sarcastic understatement) increase on the IAC site. It appears I can no longer post on BBO itself as discussion has been cut-off in the areas I looked. It is a shame that BBO  shows little to no consideration to all the many Tourney Clubs I and others belong to due to an excessive mount of growth on BBO most likely related to the coronavirus. I am happy for the talk lessons on V2, but my "brain" cannot tolerate V3, even for daily play in Main Bridge Club (for instance). I don't know for a fact, but I assume the "pay tourneys" are thriving. I'm positive that the rest of BBO play is struggling. BBO has been my "home" for many years due to my income level and entertainment level and as recommended by my former Neurologist as a way for brain growth regarding a serious brain condition, to brighten my brain. I cannot tolerate any change to my brain such as those caused by the BBO commercials which flash. V3 appears to be making my brain function worse, instead of better. And I am finding it more difficult (sarcastic understatement) to find playing time. Curls77 you have my permission to relay this memo to an appropriate site or location if you can find one that is open. I have contacted BBO Support, without a reply at this time. Support, in the past,  have been very good on follow up. Thank you for not giving up on IAC. I hope in the end that BBO does not "crash and shatter".

I attended the iac Indy today and it was SO much fun. I learned so much about he members of iac. Their playing styles. Their conventions. Their personality. And getting to know so many iac members. A big thanks as always. foxxtrot Louise

IAC Matters / Is This Area About The iac Team Matches (SPUR)?
« on: April 02, 2020, 10:04:08 PM »
 !H
I truly enjoy and look forward to the iac SPUR matches.
 !H
Seems I do not get to attend as many as I would like to due to my daytime (for me) activities, many of them bridge related.
 !H
What fun to compete and share time, with both levels of iac players. Intermediate and Advanced.
 !H
It is so kind of loyal Sanya and the directors and the teachers, etc. to devote their time and energy to making the SPUR possible.
 !H
How lucky for the advanced+ players to find those of their skill level to develop partnerships with. This makes quite a challenge and learning experience for some other iac members, like me for instance.   8)
 !H
Thanks to SPUR and the SPUR community.

With love, foxxtrot Louise

The IAC Café / Re: Di stories - favourite bridge book
« on: April 02, 2020, 07:16:46 PM »
I took bridge lessons at the suggestion of my Neurologist to brighten my brain. I have read many many intermediate bridge books as that is where i shall belong and don't mind staying. I am lucky enough to find so many delightful bridge friends from beginner to expert and sometimes to play with a Star of BBO. I belong to several BBO bridge clubs which I enjoy. My favorite book is BID BETTER - PLAY BETTER by the recently deceased Dorothy Truscott. I love the book and sincerely Mrs. Truscott. She made the splinter bid popular and is in the ACBL Hall of Fame. Thank you iac for allowing me to share. foxxtrot Louise
