 Hi all,

I was a reposnder to 1NT opener. This was my hand and I transfered first to  !S then bid 3 !H. Is this the correct way to show this hand?

  !S AQ986
  !H AT632
  !D J2
  !C A

What do I do with 5 !S/4 !H? Or 5 !H/4 !S?

Thank for your replies,
Vered

Sleight of Hand / How to bid to 3NT?
« on: March 19, 2023, 11:00:55 PM »
The bidding:
p, p, 1  !H, p/ 1NT, 2  !C, p, p/2  !H, ppp.

Two tables in the tournament reached 3NT.
One played by the opener making 3N+1 and the other by the responder making 3N.

Opener's hand:
 !S AJT4,  !H AQJ85,  !D J2, !C Q7

Responder's hand:
 !S 872, !H 94,  !D AK75,  !C K842

What did we do right and what was wrong?

Does opener have a bid after  !C 2?

Thank you, Vered

Sleight of Hand / How to get to slam?
« on: February 14, 2023, 03:18:38 AM »
My partner and I were practicing bidding sitting in the South and North seats. East passed as the dealer then South opened  1- !H, West passed and North bid  1- !S.
How would you continue to get to slam? 6NT or  maybe 6- !H?

South hand:
 !S-KJ6,
 !H-KJ973,
 !D-AKQ7,
 !C-8

North hand:
 !S-Q942,
 !H-AQ
 !D-862
 !C-AK74

Thanks for your advice, Vered

Sleight of Hand / NMF - opener's 1st obligation?
« on: March 16, 2022, 04:14:39 AM »
There are different suggestions for opener's 1st rebid; support responder's major with 3 or bid your own 4 card other major. What are the advantages of one over the other?
Thanks, Vered

In this auction: none vulnerable, p, 3 !D, 3 !S/ 5 !D, X   is this double for penalty?  The doubler's hand:  !ST,  !HQ62,  !DQT98,  !CJT652.
Would there be a different meaning to a double if the opening bid was 1 !D not 3 !D?
Thank you, Vered
