Will pairs ladder ever start again?
-
Joe and Walid are looking at it, I will poke on them :)
-
How did the poking go?
You may recall that I developed an Excel spreadsheet a few years ago which could, I believe, have been used to support the pairs ladder, and been accessible to the members via Dropbox. Would you like me to dig it out from the archives and get it tested out?
-
Poking had no results at all ;)
But now it is being done by Todd (Masse24), we hope have it on for test run just after holiday season.

We are ready for a BETA test.
Who is interested in a PAIRS LADDER?
Message me and I will message you privately with instructions on how you can help test it.

Count me in on the beta testing Todd

Nice Work.
But this measures individuals, not pairs. Probably a necessary evil since the whole concept of a pairs ladder seems to have died. It at least makes use of existing IAC tournaments.
One comment though: it puts a lot of emphasis on attendance. Clearly those who participate in the most tournaments will accumulate the most . . . "points." Sort of like the ACBL, which is doles out attendance prizes in the form of Masterpoints. Can you create a weighted average with a certain minimum number of tournaments required before it kicks in? That would seem to be a more accurate reflection of performance.
Again, Nice Work!

Sure I can :), what could be a min number of trns? I can add another page for pairs, but this info is there already (kinda :) , click on number of trns played, it will show stats by partners).
Also I would suggest a change in a way points are assigned as it is way easier to get points in small trn right now...

Added pairs standing for 2022 :)

Added Year to date and previous month for pairs. Looks like monthly view is not so useful...

This is quite questionable too I guess. If someone only plays Monday's Dare tournaments (or any other with low number of pairs) the average would be way higher... to solve this we need variable points system...
